Born and raised in Michigan, Betsy Finn has always loved creating. As a child, she loved spending afternoons with her grandfather in his workshop; some afternoons were spent painting, and others
were spent making creations out of wood. In 2005, she founded Betsy’s Photography, and has enjoyed creating portraits here in Dexter over the years.

Despite her photographic career focus of photography, Betsy enjoys creating fine art in more traditional media like pastel, ink, and watercolor. Betsy’s pastel creations are created in a simplistic free-flowing manner, a vibrant celebration of the inspiration found in the natural world. Her ink drawings are more detailed, subdued, with a focus on pen stroke technique. Regardless of the media, Betsy’s goal is to create artwork that imbues a sense of appreciation and wonder for the world and people around us.

Betsy earned her BA in Studio Art and Business (minors in Art History and French) from Hope College, studied photography at Michigan State University, and holds her Master of Photography (2012) and Photographic Craftsman (2010) degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. In 2010, Betsy was named one of the top ten photographers under the age of 30 by Professional Photographer Magazine. Her art has been exhibited in many local and international exhibitions, including several
juried exhibits held by the Ann Arbor Women Artists; earlier in 2020 she also had the honor of exhibiting her first solo fine art show at the Ann Arbor City Club.
