Paint Dexter supports and encourages an understanding and love of art.

Attending a workshop is a great way to do both! Under the guidance of a professional artist, participants learn the basic principles of plein air painting, perfect their craft, and create bonds through shared experience with other artists.

Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival volunteers and the Dexter Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee are dedicated to the art and craft of Plein Air painting. This art form is available to all skill levels, all ages, and enriches the observer/artist connection to the landscape and place. Our quaint little city and the surrounding Midwestern landscape provides an abundance of subject matter from which to draw inspiration.

Through our workshop experiences and the annual presentation of the History of Plein Air Painting at the Dexter District Library, we hope to reach artists, collectors and the curious!
